PACKAGING LINE LEAD / SUPERVISOR — Bohemia, NY

Jerome Stevens Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking experienced hardworking, honest candidates for Line Leader and Supervisory positions in the Packaging Department.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in FDA-regulated environment, minimum 5-years

  • Hardworking and Attentive to Detail

  • Familiar with cGMP and SOP’s

  • Experience with packaging equipment such as Bottle Unscramblers, Slat Fillers, Cappers, Labelers, Case Packers and manual pack processes

  • Ability to follow instructions carefully

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Experience in Serialization, a plus

  • Computer experience, a plus

  • Hi-Lo and forklift experience, a plus

  • Ability to read and comprehend company procedures and policies (be advised, all company documentation is in English)

  • Some heavy lifting required

Job Responsibilities

The Line Leader / Supervisor, as appropriate, is responsible for providing daily production leadership, personnel guidance, and support for the production work center, while sustaining safety, quality, and timeliness. The Line Leader will be an active participant within the team and will serve as the primary day-to-day operations lead. 

  • Provide direction to operators in the packaging department

  • Organize operators to assemble, disassemble, clean, and store packaging equipment

  • Document packaging and labeling steps in batch records accurately and completely as required and confirm documentation is completed with minimal errors

  • Perform start-up and in-process testing in timely manner accurately and ensure proper documentation

  • Recognize potential problems and provide input on corrective action(s)

  • Assisting with training and mentoring of new hires

  • Effectively communicate production delays to Supervisor/Manager

  • Demonstrating self-direction and initiative

  • Organizing and leading packaging team

  • Ensure that the room remains clean throughout the production run

  • Report all paperwork issues and discrepancies to the Supervisor/Manager for resolution.

  • Determines the placement of personnel on the production line, according to quality critical skill sets required at each line station

  • Support line operation and production activities, as necessary

Training

  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

  • Packaging Operations

  • FDA Regulations

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Hi-Lo and forklift experience, a plus

  • Packaging Line Equipment
